When it comes to maintaining a healthy work life balance, organization is key. In the midst of hectic days it can be easy to forget some of the most important items on the top of your list. For me, having a system helps me stay focused, prepared, and better able to concentrate on tasks at hand. We all work really hard, day in and day out, making it impossible to ever be "too organized." Having everything in order can make a world of difference, and the best part it is, it isn't too hard to get in the habit!
I've outlined some of my best tips and tricks for staying organized day to day, to help maintain a simplified life
Clean Space
This may scream obvious, but you'd be surprised how many people struggle to maintain a clean workspace. Clutter causes distractions and can keep you from staying focused on a simple project. Help yourself out and get rid of the junk. Strive to have only one cup for water, and a mug for coffee at your space at all times. Show off your personality with fun accessories, but don't overdo it to the point there isn't any workspace left. The goal is to create an environment that you will thrive in, not drown.
Lists On Lists
Perpetually organized people can't help but write everything down - sometimes more than once. Jotting down notes throughout the day jogs your memory and helps things stick, making you less likely to miss that important deadline. Sound too easy? It's also a good idea to keep your list organized. Try skipping lines between items or bullet out the major details.

My planner is my life. I keep everything in it from work deadlines, appointments, wedding planning details and to-do lists. I also keep everything color coordinated with my favorite pens so that I can easily find what I'm looking for, without having to read through everything.
At my job, I work with about five different clients at a time. Without an organized email system I'd be completely lost every single day. There are several ways to tackle filing your emails, so play around until you find the one that fits you best. I personally have folders within folders within folders depending on the client, project, and even year - it helps with archiving later down the road!
Give Your Things A Home
This goes back to item number one. To help yourself maintain a clean space, give everything on your desk a home. Take it one step further, and bring these habits to your actual home. Having clean organized spaces everywhere you go, will help reduce stress and leave you feeling confident you've done your job for the day.
Sleep
Those who master organization, know how important a good night's sleep is. Try going to bed just 15 minutes earlier and work on clearing your mind. You'll wake up feeling rejuvenated and more ready for the day ahead.
